Our much-loved No. 60 Pigment Ink is back – new and improved. Inspired by the very best Japanese pigment inks, it’s waterproof*, lightfast, and beautifully intense. Whether you’re sketching fine linework, writing pages of notes, or layering watercolour washes over the top, this ink is designed to stay crisp and smudge-free.
Performance & care – a quick heads up for your customers:
• Because this is a pigment-based ink, it behaves a little differently from our dye-based fountain pen inks.
• If you won’t be using your pen for more than a few days, we recommend removing the tip and reservoir, rinsing thoroughly with water, and allowing everything to dry completely before refilling.
• Avoid storing the Lumos or Wren vertically (with the tip up) – particularly with finer fineliner tips (0.4 and below). When stored upright, ink can flow away from the tip, leaving it less saturated and more prone to drying out, even when capped.
• If pigment ink dries inside a tip or reservoir, it can’t be revived due to the pigment particles. The good news? Simply replace the tip and reservoir and you’re back in business.
A little care goes a long way – and in return, you’ll get crisp, permanent, archival black lines.
*Waterproof? Well, almost. This ink is highly water-resistant, meaning it’ll stay true under a colour wash – provided it's given time to fully dry. If you go in heavy with a very wet overwash, you may notice slight smudging. We always recommend testing before committing those final marks to the page.
