Includes Cover and dated 2026 Original book
Yumi Kitagishi is an illustrator gaining attention in Japan and beyond, and her work has been turned into a techo cover again this year. This 2026 version showcases the full charm of her drawings once more.
The world created by Kitagishi in acrylic gouache draws you in, quietly making you imagine the stories or settings behind each piece for a special kind of wonder. Both nostalgic and exciting, her illustrations perfectly capture the charm of a picture book. The theme for this techo cover is “table decorations,” and it is made out of a polyester material.
Lined up are a teapot shaped like a white cat and a teacup, a vase filled with beautiful flowers, a napkin bound with a ribbon…countless items that would add color and joy to any table.
There is another illustration in the pocket on the back of the cover. Look, a pink place mat is already peeking out! Have a look inside to find out what else might be hidden.
The cover interior comes in a red checkered pattern, which was also drawn by Kitagishi. The pocket on the right side is decorated with the white and black cats and there’s even a strip of film that features the little white cat. Once again included this year is an exclusive brand card with an original design. If you put it in one of the pockets, opening your techo every day will become even more fun.
The pockets on the left side have pieces of stationery and other colorful items peeking out, making for another charming feature.
