Used as far back as 668 BCE, book curses called down a variety of inventive punishments on those who did not return books to the libraries and monasteries they belonged to. This one is inspired by the style of curse used in Medieval book and a dragon found in a book of hours (Walters MS W.427 fol 25v.) and the many slightly murderous marginalia bunnies.
